Driving to the Fairgrounds
About sixteen minutes via I-690 West — pre-fair traffic gets heavier as the day goes on, so plan accordingly.
Tip: Fair traffic is heaviest from 11am–2pm and concert-night peak (5–7pm). Arriving early or after 4pm is much smoother.
Make a real Central New York trip out of it: five miles to Destiny USA for shopping and rainy-day backup, six miles to Empower FCU Amphitheater on Onondaga Lake for big-name concerts, and easy access to Onondaga Lake Park, the Erie Canal, and Skaneateles Lake (35 minutes west).
